The club’s chief executive officer Oystein Neerland claimed that they are happy to “lend” their coach to United. “That Manchester United ask Molde FK to lend the manager is by itself an event, and not least a statement of trust for both Ole Gunnar and Molde FK,” Neerland said. “We are happy to lend Ole Gunnar, we wish both him and the club a success. “This is a big opportunity for Molde FK, we think it will be developing and helping to put Molde FK further on the football card.” A report from the Mirror provides a twist however, claiming that the Red Devils are leaning towards appointing Solskjaer permanently in the summer. United are not convinced that they can prise Mauricio Pochettino away from Spurs, and Zinedine Zidane’s poor grasp of English could spell the end of his chances. Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri are also mentioned, though it is believed financial agreement is already in place with Molde should they wish to keep Solskjaer at Old Trafford.
