Klopp compares Liverpool situation to marriage; offers Fabinho update Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp likened the ups and downs of his side’s current season to that of a marriage, and provided a worrying update on the hamstring injury suffered by Fabinho. The Reds made it two wins from two to start their Champions League campaign with goals from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah. Jota’s strike was the club’s 10,000th goal in it’s history, but the celebrations were tempered after emergency centre-half Fabinho appeared to suffer a hamstring injury. Speaking to BT Sport after the match, Klopp said: “Difficult game, very hectic. Respect to Midtjylland. “They used the first game as a proper lesson. They were incredible against the ball tonight. They get my full respect for that. “It’s a bit like a marriage. In good or bad times, it’s not a bad time, it’s a tricky time, and now we have to stick together more than ever. The boys did that. “We had to make the change at half time with Jordan Henderson – he said I’m fine but in these moments you have to be responsible and the plan before the game was to give him around 45 minutes so he would be okay for West Ham. “It was a hard game to play. But winning 2-0 is completely fine so that’s it – let’s carry on.” Fabinho’s injury puts more strain on Liverpool’s defensive ranks, with Joel Matip currently side-lined and Virgil van Dijk expected to miss the entire season. “It’s exactly the last thing we needed,” admitted the German. “I know he felt a hamstring, and that’s not good. He said he could have played on but no sprints, which doesn’t help. We will see, we will know more after a scan.”   Jota reacts to Liverpool milestone Portuguese forward Jota also spoke to BT Sport, and was quick to pass the praise to Trent Alexander-Arnold but his part in teeing up the goal. “It was massive,” said Jota. “After a good away win in Porto we did our job, got three points which is the most important thing.
